Generic Archive Utility is designed to automate the process of removing and storing historic information from your iSeries/AS/400 database, keeping your system up-to-date and running more efficiently.

You can use the utility to compile sets of files into individual archives and define rules and criteria to select records for archiving. You can choose exactly when to execute the process of submitting an archive run, so that the archiving process does not impact on system performance at critical times. You can also choose to run the archive during normal working hours as a low priority task, as this utility does not have to run in an exclusive or restricted state.

Main Features:

  • Allows single or multiple file archives.
  • Easy to configure archive rules using similar style to Query/400 file join and selection criteria.
  • Works with all iSeries/AS/400 externally described physical data files.
  • Compatible with most iSeries/AS/400 business application systems, including System 21, J.D. Edwards and BPCS.
  • Allows from and to date range selection of key records.
  • Allows the ability to assign an archive label to the output data, enabling records to be grouped by month, week, quarterly blocks, etc.
  • Allows run time duration to be specified, either by maximum number of minutes or maximum number of records.
  • Can be run in test mode, where archive output is created but no original records are removed.
  • Archive runs can be scheduled for later processing.
  • Data management reports, giving an indication of files to be archived.
  • Help desk support available.

The Generic Archive Utility comes complete with user documentation.

The software comes with our standard 30 day warranty. We also offer an extended 12 month warranty (which can be renewed annually).

In addition, we offer on-site installation and one day's training.
